چکیده

Apical meristems, first, second and third-fourth axillary buds of Ludwigia repens were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing various concentrations of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), thidiazuron (TDZ) and αnaphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) for micropropagation. Micropropagation was best achieved from apical meristem on MS medium containing 0.05 mg dm TDZ and 0.1 mg dm NAA. It was noted that TDZ or BAP had inhibitory effect on shoot elongation, which was overcome by subculturing shoots on half-strength MS media without growth regulators after 4 weeks of culture. This also served as rooting media. Rooted plantlets were finally transferred to aquariums containing fresh water with 100% adaptation.

Control of In Vitro Contamination in Dionysia tapetodes for Effective Micropropagation

In vitro microbial contaminations are the most serious problems in plant tissue culture. Initial attempts for micropropagation of Dionysia tapetodes, a beautiful alpine cushion plant from north-east Iran, led to 100% explants contamination. Hence, the present study was conducted to develop an efficient surface sterilization protocol for in vitro culture of field collected D. tapetodes using com...

Somatic Embryogenesis: An Alternative Method for in vitro Micropropagation

Plant tissue culture is an alternative method of commercial propagation and is being used widely for the commercial propagation of a large number of plant species, including many medicinal plants. Somatic embryogenesis is a process by which asexual or somatic cells are induced to form embryos in culture. Somatic embryogenesis is a multi-step regeneration process starting with formation of pro-e...

Micropropagation of Rosa canina Through Axillary Shoot Proliferation

In vitro propagation of rose has played a very important role in rapid multiplication of species with desirable traits and production of healthy and disease-free plants. Micropropagation using nodal segments of Rosa canina under different combinations of BAP, GA3 and NAA on MS and VS, medium was investigated. The results showed that the highest shoot proliferation was obtained on VS medium cont...
